Intimate Henry Miller Library Wedding in Big Sur

Olivia and Jacob’s day was simple, laidback, and romantic. Olivia vividly recalls their first visit to Big Sur as young college students; it felt unlike anywhere else. Returning to Big Sur has since become a tradition, marking different seasons of their relationship. They treasure the disconnection from the modern world and the deep connection to nature that Big Sur offers, making it an obvious choice when they began discussing their California wedding venue. They wanted to get married in a space where they felt rooted in nature, and having a Henry Miller Library wedding seemed like a clear fit, with its towering redwoods acting as their cathedral.

A Sacred Haven for Love in Big Sur

Jacob and Olivia met over eight years ago at University, where Olivia knew instantly that Jacob was the person she wanted to spend her life with. Jacob quickly became her best friend and biggest supporter. Some of their most cherished memories involve driving along California’s stunning coastline on countless road trips. Big Sur, in particular, holds a special place in their hearts, drawing them in with its unique energy.

They both long to share Big Sur’s beauty with their future children, envisioning it as a meaningful place for their family. No matter how time progresses, they can always return to Big Sur to find solace and grounding.

I admired their choice to keep their day simple and intimate, handling all the setup to save money, which turned out beautifully. The invitations were stunning, and Olivia’s dress was detailed and elegant. Their dream of an intimate wedding ceremony amidst towering redwoods and lush greenery became a reality. The celebration continued into the night at Henry Miller, completing a truly memorable day.

“A common theme we wanted on our wedding day was a grounding in nature, which made choosing Evynn as a photographer easy. Her photography is so woven with the natural landscape, and you so clearly capture the energy of Big Sur. Looking back at the photos, we couldn’t be happier as they bring back such extraordinary memories of such a special space!”
