Farm-to-Table Wedding at Oz Farm

There’s something about a farm-to-table wedding that feels natural—unhurried, thoughtful, and rooted in what matters. Emily and Zach’s wedding at Oz Farm in Point Arena was exactly that. Set on a working farm along the Northern California coast, their celebration was an entire weekend of connection. With guests staying on-site, it felt more like a gathering than an event—people settling in, sharing meals, and being present with one another.

I met Emily and Zach in a way that felt easy and unplanned. We were at a wine dinner at Sea Ranch, chatting over good food, when the topic of their wedding came up. By the end of the night, we had exchanged contact information. There was no formal inquiry, no pressure—just a natural conversation that led to something meaningful. Oz Farm had been on my list of venues I wanted to visit, and experiencing it through Emily and Zach’s wedding made it even better. The flowers were in full bloom, the setting was peaceful, and the entire day was relaxed—from walking through the Redwoods to cocktails in the garden and dinner in front of the barn. It felt effortless in the best way.

The Venue: Oz Farm

Oz Farm is tucked into a quiet valley along the Mendocino coast and feels removed from the rush of the world. It is off the grid, powered by solar and wind, surrounded by Redwoods, and just a couple of miles from the ocean. It’s a working farm, too, with organic gardens in full bloom when Emily and Zach married. Everything about the setting encourages people to be present, take their time, and settle into the experience.

The venue’s layout created an easy, natural flow to the day, and Redwoods encircled the ceremony. From there, guests went to the garden for cocktails—oysters, fresh fruit, drinks made with honey from Emily and Zach’s backyard hives—before dinner in front of the barn. Nothing felt rushed or overly structured, and everything unfolded at its own pace.

A Love Story Rooted in Adventure

Emily and Zach met in the first few weeks of university, connected over a shared love for the outdoors, and built a relationship that grew alongside their adventures—hiking trails, road-tripping, and finding a home in each other no matter where life took them. Over the years, they moved across the country together for school and work, adapting to new cities and new seasons of life. But no matter where they went, the California coastline remained a constant place that always pulled them back. When choosing a wedding location, it made sense to return to the area that had shaped so much of their story.

Their wedding reflected the life they built together—one rooted in connection, adventure, and community. The people who had been part of their journey were essential to the celebration, helping with everything from gathering thrifted tableware to arranging flowers and preparing meals.

A True Community Celebration and Farm-to-Table Wedding Feast

Friends and family carried every detail of Emily and Zach’s wedding—from the thrifted serving plates and vases collected from all over the state to the flowers, cocktails, and meals guests helped prepare throughout the weekend. Even Emily’s cousins did her hair and makeup.

Their love for gardening and cooking made food a focus of the day. Cocktail Hour featured oysters from Hog Island and drinks made with homegrown peaches, Meyer lemons, and honey from their backyard hives. Dinner was a family-style paella set up to encourage conversation and connection. Instead of one large wedding cake, each table had its own from Sweet Adeline’s in Berkeley.

The setting at Oz Farm allowed the day to unfold naturally, moving from a ceremony in the Redwoods to a cocktail hour in the garden and finally to dinner in front of the barn. There was no strict timeline—just people enjoying the moment, sharing stories, and settling into joy surrounded by the right people in the right place. This farm-to-table wedding didn’t need anything extra to make it special—it already was.
