Despite their day’s cold, and very misty weather, these two remained fully immersed in the moment, laughing, crying, and taking it all in. Their genuine emotions and unwavering connection were a breath of fresh air. The feel of their coastal elopement was artful, and the rugged coastline was the perfect backdrop for their intimate elopement ceremony.

Shahrzad and Rich’s love story began at a local coffee shop, where they were introduced by mutual friends. Though they didn’t click immediately, fate had other plans. Six months later, they reconnected on a dating app and began a brief, long-distance correspondence while away for the holidays. When they returned to Los Angeles, they decided to give their connection another chance and went on their first date.

For Shahrzad, Carmel held a special significance. Her parents had met and married in Monterey in 1966, making it a starting point for their journey in the United States. While Shahrzad didn’t grow up in the area, Carmel remained one of the places that felt closest to home. It was only natural, then, that Shahrzad and Rich chose to exchange their vows in this picturesque coastal town, a decision that aligned perfectly with the beauty and significance of their coastal elopement day.

A Coastal Elopement Near Big Sur

Shahrzad and Rich’s elopement day unfolded with a sense of quiet intimacy. Shahrzad took charge of her makeup and hair, and she radiated a natural beauty. Her brother-in-law, who also served as the officiant, added a personal touch by crafting the flowers too. The couple exchanged their vows on a viewpoint overlooking the Pacific Ocean, surrounded by a handful of their closest family and friends. The atmosphere was filled with warmth and love as they promised to cherish each other, their words carried away by the gentle ocean breeze.

To cap off the day, Shahrzad and Rich rented a vintage car, its classic charm adding a romantic flair to their celebration. As they drove off into the sunset, the misty veil gave way to a warm glow, symbolizing the beginning of their new life together.
